SWAPS

You could always switch out walnuts for the pecans if you love walnuts. We have always loved pecans with pumpkin. I think you could also use honey in place of the maple syrup.

🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This pie is easy to make and there have been times when I have been in a hurry I didn’t even use the mixer to mix it up, just used a spoon and made sure it mixed well.

COOKING STEPS

Step 1
Combine pumpkin, salt, milk, eggs in a bowl and mix well with mixer. Add sugar, spices and vanilla and continue to mix.

Step 2
Pour into the pie shell. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 to 45 minutes until center is set.

Step 3
8-10 minutes before pie is done cooking, take out of oven and sprinkle maple pecan topping to the top of the pie. Place pie back in the oven and continue baking till completely cooked through.

Step 4
Maple Pecan Topping Instructions: mix all ingredients together and gently sprinkle over pie.
