❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This recipe is really easy to make and only a handful of ingredients. I know people that wait for this to come out every year so its nice to be able to make your own. Plus you can make this a day in advance and it’s still great. A little goes a long way and it’s wonderful with turkey!

🍴KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Can of Crushed Pineapple
  • Can of Cranberry Sauce with Whole Cranberries
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Lemon Juice
  • Cherry Jell-o Gelatin
  • Walnuts

SWAPS

You can add maraschino cherries to this and some people add celery. Others have used pecans instead of walnuts. Someone commented they added mandarin oranges.

🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This is a very easy dish to prepare and comes together quickly which is always a plus during the holiday season.

COOKING STEPS

Step 1
Drain the pineapple and reserve juice. There won’t be hardly any juice, so don’t be alarmed. Place pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and lemon juice in a pot on the stove. Bring it to a quick boil, stirring the entire time so it doesn’t burn.

Step 2
Then add in the jello, and continue stirring. Next, add in the cranberry sauce and continue stirring until it is mixed well. Put into a mixing bowl and place in the refrigerator for about 1.5 hours or until it starts to set up.

Step 3
Then add walnuts and pineapple. Stir well. Place back in the refrigerator to set up. This will not set up like jello, but it will harden some. You’ll want to stir it before serving.

🥄SERVE THIS WITH

This dish is best served with cornbread dressing and mashed potatoes! Don’t forget the cathead biscuits, they are a wonderful addition to any holiday.
