- 1/4 C Granulated Sugar
- Homemade Buttermilk Substitute: Mix 1/2 C whole milk with 1/2 tsp white vinegar
Instructions
Preheat Your Oven: Crank up your oven to 350°F to set the stage for baking magic.
Initiate the Wet Mix: In a mixing bowl, seamlessly blend the canola oil, softened unsalted butter, and granulated sugar until uniform.
Add the Flavor Enhancers: Incorporate the room-temperature eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until you attain a silky-smooth mixture.
Create the Ultimate Blend: Gradually fold in the dry ingredients—flour, baking powder, salt—along with the buttermilk. Mix until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.
Craft the Cinnamon-Molasses Fusion: Set aside a half-cup of the bread batter. Add cinnamon and molasses to it, mixing until well-integrated.
Prep the Loaf Pan: Spritz your loaf pan with baking spray to ensure a non-stick experience.
Layer the Batters: First, pour half of the bread batter into the prepared pan. Layer this with half of the cinnamon-molasses fusion. Repeat with the remaining batters.
Swirl for a Marble Effect: Employ a butter knife or toothpick to swirl the two batters together, creating a mesmerizing marble pattern.
The Bake-Off: Place the pan in the preheated oven, baking for 45-50 minutes.
Cool Down: Once out of the oven, let the bread sit in the pan for about 10 minutes to cool slightly.
Loaf Liberation: Carefully detach the edges and sides of the bread from the pan, then gently lift the loaf out.
Construct the Coating: While the loaf is cooling, prepare your coating. In a large, shallow dish, mix melted butter with both types of sugar and cinnamon.
Double Dip: Immerse each side of the loaf in melted butter, making sure it’s fully coated. Follow this by dredging the loaf in the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Feel free to sprinkle extra on top for that finishing touch.
